Fourth Draft of Promotional Poster

On my fourth draft I included an image of Mell, decreased the opacity and it gave the effect above. I like how they're stood apart and are kind of identical, it reflects back to the music video as the girl actor is more of a dream and a distant memory than real life with him looking back on his memories with her this effect shows this and I think it is effective and intriguing to the eye of my target audience.
Editing my Promotional Poster

I begun my poster by adding fonts that I felt followed the conventions of my genre, therefore I use 'Downcome' for my artists name as it is not your plain, boring font but catches your eye due to its edginess and indie look.

After adding the text and increasing the brightness a little, I added the image of my album cover to the poster and placed it in the bottom right hand corner next to the website.

I then went on to editing the colours of my image through the 'Neutral Picker' this let me play about with the saturation and the temperature of the image, which allowed me to make the image a tad brighter but adding a slight brown/yellow old look to the picture.

I then added some dark edges around the poster to make the text stand out more situated in the middle of the poster.

I then added a 'Film Grain' effect to my poster as I felt this had continuity from my music video. I used the film grain effect when using the camcorder within my filming. I felt this fit the genre very well and I like how the running theme of film came from my video to the poster.

Third Draft of Promotional Poster

Second Draft of Promotional poster

After taking new pictures of my actors I recreated a brand new poster in a more conventional portrait way so it is able to fit on billboards and in magazines for advertising purposes. I feel like going for the more simplistic look is conventional of the indie pop/rock genre. I added the CD cover to the poster to show my target audience what the CD will look like so that they know what to look for on the shelves of shops such as HMV. Including the website or my artist allows for further advertising on not just his music, but merchandising and tour tickets.

Peer Feedback from Second Draft of Music Video

After finishing my second draft of my music video. I asked a few girls and boys to watch my music video and give me one positive and one negative for feedback. the age range was between 13-18. All ages enjoyed the music video and I got a lot of really good comments from them however they felt there was a few things I could do to adjust the video and make it better to suit their needs and what they would like to see. I will take this into account when focusing on my next draft.

Music Video Second Draft

After receiving a lot of feedback from peers and teachers I was able to go away and improve my video with adding more footage and extra editing that it needed to be fully complete and improve the video overall.

When uploading my last draft the music was not up to standard and you could hear the background noises from when I filmed due to not fully muting the clips. This time I used a You Tube tutorial to allow me to fully understand how to mute the clips properly when it comes to uploading the video.
Teacher Feedback from First Draft of Music Video

After handing in my first draft I got some feedback from my teacher. This was comments such as more performance elements are needed in the video as well as working on editing more to the beat, which I will work on to improve my music video in the upcoming drafts.

Filming Day 4 planned for last month was finally re-filmed on 22.3.14

On Saturday the 22nd of March I got the chance to shoot with Jack at Hessle Foreshore for the final shots of my music video.

Above are the shot numbers and timings that I originally posted. I worked with jack for an hour and twenty minutes as the weather was rainy and windy, this disrupted my original shots of wanting Jack to be in forest. However I was able to film in a tunnel with him to get us out of the rain, which I feel benefited my video as the messy look of the walls and miserable weather added to the effects and fits to the genre of my music video.

This is the picture used throughout the music video, which I used with Jack and Mell throughout filming and on this shoot.
