Promotional Poster Production
To create my promotional poster for my artist and their latest single I had to revisit the programme photoshop. In my As coursework I was very unfamiliar with photoshop as I had never used it before and I haven't used it since my As coursework and therefore getting familiar with all the tools again has been a challenge for me. I begun my adding my image I wanted to use for my promotional poster. I changed effects such as the radiance and using the channel mixer and to make the image of the girl stand out. However instead of using the typical font for my artists name I did research into the more professional fonts I want to use on my poster and preferably my digipak. I saved this as a jpeg from word and opened it in photoshop. This allowed me to use the lasso tool and the quick selection tool to cut around his name and move this over into my original image for my poster.
After adding my font to the image that I had started to create I realised that the font was quite small and unable to be a name that would stand out and the picture background does not help with the colour of the font. Therefore after research into existing products I found that well known bands do not use their names as advertising but use the song more often so I used the artists name for the website but in the font that stands out this then lets the consumer know of the artist but through a different kind of way instead of the original headline. However I feel this may be unconventional of my genre and my first draft is very weak at the minute especially relating and backing up my genre that i chose.
However after many adjustments of text and size I added the title of the song to the image in the font 'impact' I used the properties to make the text cling together more and stand out on the poster. The white coloured fount is continually used throughout the poster emphasising the name of the song, when and where it will be available as well as the website.
